MAMMALS AND SUCKERS
Ida Karkoszka, Karolina Wysocka
Opening: April 4, 2025, 6 – 9 pm
Ehxibition: April 5 – May 31, 2025

The exhibition Mammals and Suckers presents a dialogue between Ida Karkoszka and Karolina Wysocka, visual artists whose work is embedded in a critical reflection on ecology, capitalism and interspecies commonality. The theme of the exhibition is the motif of suction and extraction, combining biological, technological and bodily perspectives to show the tangled relationship between the natural world and systems of industrial exploitation.
The centerpiece of the exhibition will be two large-scale installations. A Taste of Joy by Ida Karkoszka is a series of sculptures in alabaster that address both human and non-human breasts and the feeding process, as well as a critique of the animal industry. Karolina Wysocka, meanwhile, will present Breaking Mercury, an installation inspired by historical medical and farming machinery, which is a reflection on extraction mechanisms and fluid relations in the environment.
