Alongside Marta Jamróg's current solo exhibition, “Kiszone lustro” (Pickled Mirror), books by Wojciech Jóźwiak, “Nasze zwierzęta mocy” (Our Power Animals), illustrated by the artist, are available at the gallery.

The publication is distributed in cooperation with Ha!art Publishing House.

Ancient people lived among animals and owed their survival to them. Animals – those hunted, those bred, and those that simply delighted with their sight or song – were also symbols through which people viewed and understood the world. This has remained with us to this day: notice how often our conversations turn to animals. Wojciech Jóźwiak's new book presents animals as symbols, as inhabitants of our imagination. The author traces their presence in popular associations, literature, films, and painting. He combines animal archetypes with symbols of astrology, magic, tarot, and the Enneagram. The book features our contemporary power animals: the Stork, Badger, Boar, Pigeon, Swallow, Deer, Hedgehog, Horse, Mole, Raven, Lion, Fox, Moose, Mouse, Buzzard, Bear, Eagle, Spider, Rarog, Elephant, Falcon, Rat, Cormorant, Tiger, Snake, Wolf, Hare, Frog, and Bison. It is worth turning to them to understand the symbolic ecosystem in which our minds still live.

The description of the book comes from the Ha!art publishing house website.
