The exhibition's title defines three successive axes around which its narrative unfolds. Blood refers to the body, mortal, fragile, yet full of desires and the matrix of collective memory. Concrete evokes the world of structures, ideologies, and material forms that were meant to shape eternity and permanence in visions. The sun, in turn, points to the realm of myth, ritual, and projection of the future. The shared interests of both artists lie between the corporeal, the constructed, and the imagined.

Although they explore similar themes, they emerge from completely different perspectives. Nowacki begins with the body and relationships—with specific individuals, everyday gestures, closeness, and coexistence. From this perspective, he examines history, monuments, artifacts, and notions of community inherited from the past, opening them up to new interpretations. Tomkowicz, in a sense, moves in the opposite direction. He takes as his starting point what no longer exists: a myth, an ancestor figure, a monument, or a symbol of power, gradually revealing their timeless, current dimension. He is interested in how grand narratives, histories, and structures imprint themselves on individuals, their bodies, fears, and experiences. It is between these two perspectives — from the individual to history and from history to the individual—that the dialogue of the exhibition Blood Concrete Sun unfolds . In both cases, the crucial question remains which images, myths, and forms of community we are ready to inherit, and which require new languages and new interpretations.
