INFINITE REALM

Eternal Engine x Omsk Social Club

exhibition: June 21, 2024 July 20,2024

opening: June 20, 2024, 79 pm

We cordially invite you to the opening of Eternal Engine x Omsk Social Club's solo exhibition "Infinite Realm". The opening will take place at the HOS Gallery at 5 Dzielna Street on Thursday, June 20, at 7:00 pm.

The most significant problem of technological revolutions, including the one unfolding in Silicon Valley in the 1960s, was taking natural resources for granted - much more so than appreciating them as necessary conditions for development. Subcultures of the time argued that technology was capable of saving the environment and the planet while enabling space exploration.

The works presented in the exhibition have a heavy dose of techno-skepticism and are full of reflections on how, from a current perspective, the enthusiastic transhumanist dreams of Timothy Leary and similar theorists, spinning visions of Space Migration, Increased Intelligence, Life Extension = S.M.I².L.E., should be revised.

Omsk Social Club combines in the experience, S.M.I².L.E.. - A Trip Into Synesthesia, the concept of these mystical community practices, projections and technological perspectives to create a living artwork that challenges the role of entanglement and over-stimulation of society.

Torrents, objects created by the Eternal Engine, are a physical artifact of memory, relating to the process of ripping off identity as it happens to data. The duo's works, digital and off-site, reverberate with the question of where the attempt to transfer consciousness to technology is headed, as well as - what comes after us. With the assumption that our afterlife is the afterlife of the planet, dreams of life extension inevitably collide with concerns over ever-shrinking deposits.
