The vernissage will be held at the HOS Gallery headquarters at 5 Dzielna Street on Friday, November 22, at 5:00 pm.
The future lies in the bones. It is on them, understood as organic building blocks and carriers of meaning, that the biological and cultural condition of humanity rests. They are the most durable element of the human body - its only remnant after death, which is part of the process of de-humanization; it transforms bodies through various metamorphoses.
The remains as organic collective entities reveal the multispecies identity and commonality of organic matter. Non-living bodies become a kind of community, taking the form of decaying fragments of skin, bones and ashes. The ontology of the dead body is the ability to connect and create new forms of kinship based on shared substance. It is both a real, material and dynamic entity and a process of constant transformation, demonstrating the unlimited potential for change.
The exhibition manifests life inherent in matter. It uses what is dead to explore the real. It reaches for dead bodies as a specific state that proves visually appealing, allowing a shift from aesthetic reflection to ontological reflection.
