Areal Böhler, Düsseldorf, Germany
Booth D08

During the art fair, HOS presented a dialogue between artists Norbert Delman and Dina Leonova (DINKA). Both artists explore issues of identity and belonging in times of crisis. Norbert Delman approaches this theme by examining embodiment and existential tensions in the face of ecological and political threats, whilst DINKA reflects on migration, family structures and the complexity of identity. Despite differences in medium and context, their artistic practices express a dialogue between corporeality, affect and the surrounding socio-political landscape, making them particularly well-suited to the ‘Panic Attack’ section.

Together, the artists interweave meanings across different media, creating a space for reflection on contemporary challenges. Their works not only reflect personal histories but also highlight shared uncertainties, posing the question of how we might reimagine forms of existence in a world shaped by ecological and social crises. The project was supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
