
JULIA SZCZERBOWSKA
Born in 1999. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where she obtained her master's degree in 2023 under the supervision of Professor Michał Zawada. Currently a student of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in the studio of Professor Daniel Richter. Co-founder and curator at the Facjata contemporary art gallery, operating in Krakow from 2020 to 2022. Interdisciplinary artist.
The majority of her work consists of paintings and objects. The main theme of her artistic work is climate catastrophe and its impact on the human psyche. Through her work, she reveals a personal narrative about the condition of contemporary man in the era of late capitalism. She explores the phenomenon of climate depression. She is also interested in feminism, its relationship to ecology, and their interdependence. Water is a particularly important motif for the artist.
